Three Of The Best... Cream Cleansers

28th May 2010

It's taken a while for Mary Linehan to see the benefits of cream cleansers, but now she's a convert...

I’ve become a bit of a cream cleanser junkie, although there is a proviso: I still like to use water on my skin. It doesn’t feel clean if I skip this step. Using a cream cleanser, I also find, can be a bit pore blocking. But the new generation of some quite brilliant cream cleansers are a revelation and worth the additional investment. It’s the Elemis Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser that has caused my conversion, but there are several others worth checking out too.

Elemis Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser (£27): A high-tech cleanser that not only deep cleans the pores but takes off every scrap of makeup. It has plenty of botanical and fruit extracts with high levels of antioxidants to help protect the skin. It’s also moisturising so it defies the slight dryness some wash-off cleansers can have.

Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser (£17): A gentle, richly moisturising creamy cleansing formulation with shea butter, that has been formulated for dry skins. A safe bet if your skin is sensitive.

Lancôme Créme-Mousse Confort (£19.50): Another revelation if you have dry or sensitive skin. Contains nourishing actives that deep cleanse, leaving the skin feeling very comfortable.

Stockists: Elemis, Clarins & Lancôme are all available at major department stores including John Lewis and Debenhams, or can be ordered online.
